About the Guild
The New York Guild of Leathercraft is a community of craftspeople connected through leather, material knowledge, and craftsmanship in New York City.
We bring together leatherworkers, bag makers, repairers, designers, shoemakers, and makers from across the trade to share knowledge, exchange ideas, build relationships, and strengthen the craft together.
Membership is currently free of charge.
Who Can Join
We welcome professional craftspeople working across leathercraft and related trades, including:
- Bags and small leather goods
- Leather repair and restoration
- Footwear and bespoke shoemaking
- Watch straps and small accessories
- Upholstery and furniture leatherwork
- Belts and leather fashion accessories
- Custom leather garments
- Tooling, carving, and artistic leatherwork
- Saddlery and equestrian leatherwork

The Guild is built around participation and exchange. There is no expectation to attend everything or to contribute in any particular way. We hope that each member will find their own way to participate in the community.
